Spanning three generations, our story is one of vision, craftsmanship, and an unwavering belief in the beauty of wood. What began as a single spark of innovation has grown into a legacy that continues to shape the landscape of log and timber construction across North America and beyond.
First Generation – The Pioneer
The story begins with Ronald Wrightman, a master craftsman, inventor, and entrepreneur whose vision reshaped the log-home industry. Over his career, Ron founded and successfully sold multiple businesses, each one fueled by his creativity and drive to build better.
He introduced breakthrough technologies early on, including the first log-home system to combine tongue-and-groove construction with dovetail corners — a major advancement in both structural integrity and craftsmanship. Ron also developed the Keylock air-seal corner and Three-Seal Systems, solutions that improved weather performance, energy efficiency, and long-term durability.
Ron’s ingenuity and pioneering spirit set a new industry standard and laid the foundation for the Wrightman legacy to grow for generations.
Second Generation – The Visionary Innovator
Robert Wrightman carried his father’s vision into a new era, transforming the small localized family business into an internationally recognized leader in log and timber homes.
A true industry innovator, Rob introduced several breakthrough technologies that reshaped modern log construction, including the Six-Seal System, Kingpost Technology, the Keyslide System, Log Lock, and advanced rustication and pre-stain techniques.
His commitment to craftsmanship and innovation elevated the Wrightman name worldwide, bringing Canadian log-home excellence to clients around the globe — from cozy lakeside retreats to iconic mountain estates.
Third Generation – The Legacy Builders
Brothers Mark and Kyle Wrightman grew up surrounded by sawdust, design sketches, and a family tradition of innovation. With a shared ambition to evolve their families legacy, they united three of the industry’s most respected brands — True North Log & Timber Homes, Canadian Timberframes, and Legacy North Construction Management.
Together, they founded ThirdGen Timber Group: a forward-focused platform delivering precision-engineered log, timber frame, and mass timber solutions. Blending generational craftsmanship with modern technology, Mark and Kyle are shaping the future of the industry while honoring the legacy that came before them.
